New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel revealed the reason for cornerback Carlton Davis' absence at Thursday's training camp practice was for a "maintenance" day.
Davis was back on the field with his teammates for Friday's practice.
The veteran defensive back figures to play a major role on the Patriots' secondary across from All-Pro cornerback Christian Gonzalez. He was one of the bigger free agent additions of the offseason for a team that made significant upgrades on the defensive side of the ball.
Davis signed a three-year, $60 million deal back in March, after a one-and-done season with the Detroit Lions.
