Judge Richard Berman is about to become the most famous football referee in the country.
The federal court judge overseeing the never-ending Deflategate scandal is set to tackle oral arguments today from NFL attorneys and union lawyers representing Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
He called for an end to the “rhetoric” between the two sides late last month. Now he’s going to wade through a lot of it as he works to determine whether NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell held a fair arbitration hearing for his league’s poster boy.
There should be some legal poetry from both sides, and there will also likely be some pointed hits.
