FOXBORO — Special teams captain Matthew Slater is excited to be back at work with his teammates, back training with a purpose in mind.
“I think everyone in here has come in with a sense of urgency, a sense of humility, understanding that we all have to work,” said Slater yesterday at Gillette Stadium.
As for stars Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, team captains who have been no-shows thus far, Slater stayed in a neutral corner.
“Those are two men that are more than capable of speaking for themselves. I certainly don’t want to be out of line attempting to speak for them,” said Slater.
