Following their game against the visiting New York Jets on Sunday, the New England Patriots will close the book on their disappointing 2023 season. At that point they will flip the switch to offseason mode, and it projects to be a franchise-altering one.
Even if head coach/de facto general manager Bill Belichick returns for a 25th season with the club, the team is headed into a rebuilding process especially on the offensive side of the ball: with former first-round quarterback Mac Jones seemingly not having a future in New England, the team needs to find a new starter at the most important position.
