As a member of two CFP title-winning teams at Alabama, Mac Jones is a football champion, and because the quarterback said he comes from “a tennis family,” maybe it’s not surprising that he would be compared to a tennis champion – John McEnroe.
But the comparison wasn’t meant to be flattering, and Jones said he’s still working to get the John McEnroe out of him as the quarterback of the New England Patriots.
A winner of seven singles titles in Grand Slam events, McEnroe earned a reputation for volatility because of his outbursts of dissatisfaction with his play and tirades against umpires.
