FOXBOROUGH — Mac Jones’ favorite part of football is the chess match.
The Patriots quarterback isn’t as big or fast as many NFL quarterbacks, but he thinks the game at high speed and enjoys the film study and game-planning that goes into preparing each week.
Since there is very little focus on the opponent during the preseason, some of Jones’ best assets don’t come into play. As New England turns the page and begins to get ready for next week’s opener at Miami, Jones is back in his element.
