Longtime Patriots center David Andrews to announce retirement from NFL

PORTLAND, Maine —

David Andrews, who won two Super Bowls as the center of the New England Patriots, will announce his retirement from the National Football League next week.

Andrews, 32, played his entire NFL career with the Patriots and was an eight-time team captain for New England.

The Patriots announced Wednesday that they will celebrate Andrews during a retirement press conference, which is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 2.

Andrews played collegiately at the University of Georgia and joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May 2015.
