Hindered by a knee injury, Julian Edelman was on a pitch count in the Patriots' season opener.
Edelman played 87% of the offensive snaps last season, but was only on the field for 58% against the Dolphins. It’s the continuation of a summer-long trend that has seen the veteran take on a lighter workload.
On a video call Thursday afternoon, Edelman was adamant that he isn’t sweating it.
“I’m just happy to be out there playing and trying to contribute to my team," Edelman said. "When they ask to use me, I’ll be ready to go.
