New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick confirmed that Julian Edelman did have surgery and doesn’t think the procedure to improve the receiver’s injured knee would end Edelman’s season.
“We’ll see how the return goes. I don’t think this is a season-ending situation. We’ll see. I’m not a doctor. Hopefully, he’ll be back,” Belichick said. “He’s worked really hard. Nobody is more competitive than Julian is. He’ll do everything he can to be back out there. He’ll just take it day-by-day. ... We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully he’ll have a good recovery and be back better than he was before the surgery.
