Safety Jabrill Peppers defended his playing abilities amid the ongoing rumors that he was released due to not being a scheme fit for the New England Patriots' defense.
Fans were stunned by the team's decision to cut the veteran defensive back, who served as a team captain last season. It was expected that he would either start this year or continue to have a major role on defense, at the very least.
Peppers played in three seasons for the Patriots, recording 178 combined tackles, three interceptions, 10 pass deflections and two fumble recoveries. He has been an integral part of the Patriots' defense for the three years he's been on the team.
