The New England Patriots may have a legitimate battle for the starting running back job. The Athletic's Jeff Howe recently told fans not to be surprised if rookie TreVeyon Henderson ends up beating Rhamondre Stevenson to earn the lead running back job at some point.
Henderson is arguably the most explosive playmaker on the Patriots' roster, and he hasn't even taken a regular season snap yet. He took a kick return 100 yards for a touchdown the first time he touched the ball in the NFL preseason opener against the Washington Commanders.
There were also multiple run plays throughout the preseason that highlighted how electric Henderson can be with the ball in his hands.
