Sidney Jones has been among the higher rated cornerbacks on many draft boards for quite awhile.
It’s easy to see why. The press-man corner has long arms, great instincts and playmaking ability. In three seasons at Washington, he broke up 21 passes and forced six fumbles.
Now wouldn’t it just be a hoot if the Patriots managed to snag him in the third round?
Actually, it would be a classic move on the part of the Pats. Jones tore his left Achilles at his pro day March 12. Obviously, as one of the best corners in the draft, he was projected to go in the first round, but the injury will no doubt have him tumbling down the board.
