Giants GM makes admission on QB Tommy DeVito after Patriots claim

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen admitted the team would have "loved" to have Tommy DeVito back, but the New England Patriots claimed the quarterback on waivers before the Giants could stash him on their practice squad.

DeVito has played in 12 games with eight starts for the Giants. That kind of experience is invaluable for a football team, and it's understandable why Schoen would have wanted him back.

"We're happy for Tommy. He was claimed by New England. ...We would have loved to have him back, but he was claimed. We wish him nothing but the best," said Schoen.
