Former Super Bowl champion ‘wasted on Bourbon Street,’ before call from Patriots

Before playing 139 games and winning two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, Rob Ninkovich had some trouble finding his spot in the NFL.

Originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 2006, Ninkovich appeared in only three games before being waived just ahead of the 2007 season.

From there, Ninkovich played in five games with the Dolphins across two years as then Miami President Bill Parcells tried to move him to inside linebacker.

Ninkovich described his struggle with the change and issues in Miami during Thursday’s episode of the Dudes on Dudes podcast with Gronk and Jules.
