One day after the New England Patriots trimmed its roster to 53 per NFL deadline, a former local high school star learned he'd be working out some more in Foxborough.
Former Shepherd Hill and Boston College standout Alec Lindstrom was one of 16 named to New England's practice squad, the team announced Aug. 27.
Lindstrom, who saw action in all three Patriots preseason games at center, was among the final cuts the day before. The brother of Falcons All-Pro guard Chris Lindstrom passed through waivers unclaimed, and New England signed him to the practice squad.
