Former Patriots OL Shelby Jordan Passes Away

The New England Patriots announced in a press release Friday that former offensive lineman Shelby Jordan passed away on September 9th at age 70.

A 12-year NFL veteran out of Washington University in St. Louis, Jordan spent eight seasons in New England from 1975-1982, playing in 95 games with 87 starts at right tackle.

Jordan was a seventh-round pick (157 overall) of the Houston Oilers in the 1973 NFL Draft before his free agency signing with the Patriots.

In 1983, Jordan signed a four-year contract with the Los Angeles Raiders where he helped the team win a Super Bowl title later that year and retired with the franchise following the 1986 season.
