Former Patriots first-round pick signs with Dolphins ahead of Week 2

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly signing former New England Patriots first-round draft pick Cole Strange off the Cleveland Browns' practice squad, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Strange played in 30 games for the Patriots and started in 29 of them. He battled back from a serious knee injury in 2023 and only appeared in three games last season. There was hope that Strange would develop into a franchise left guard for the Patriots, but it was clear that he was on the roster bubble entering training camp.

The team ultimately made the decision to cut him as part of the final roster cuts before the 2025 season.
