Former Patriots Defensive Tackle Carted Off At Rival’s Practice

Byron Cowart was carted off the field with an apparent injury at the New York Jets training camp session on Tuesday, according to a report by Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper.

The former New England Patriots defensive tackle signed with the Jets in March.

The Patriots selected Cowart in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and he spent the first two seasons of his career with the team.

Cowart played just five games and 43 defensive snaps during the 2019 campaign, while recording two tackles. He started and played 14 contests with New England in 2020, registering career highs in defensive snaps (419) and tackles (27), while posting three quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, one pass defended and one sack as well.
