Former Patriots coach Brian Daboll hired as Bills offensive coordinator

With the Patriots running the risk of possibly losing both coordinators at the end of the season, one potential replacement is officially off the board today.

The Buffalo Bills hired Alabama assistant coach Brian Daboll to be their offensive coordinator. Daboll was the tight ends coach for the Patriots from 2013-16 and also worked for the team as a defensive assistant and wide receivers coach from 2000-2006.

If Josh McDaniels takes a head coaching job at the end of the season — McDaniels has been reported to be the leading candidate for the Colts job — Daboll would have likely been considered to take his place in Foxboro.
