FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
Two stars from the New England Patriots dynasty are one step closer to being enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Richard Seymour and Vince Wilfork, both former defensive linemen, were among the 26 modern-era players named semifinalists from the Hall of Fame's Class of 2022 on Wednesday.
Seymour, 42, played the first eight seasons of his NFL career with the Patriots, who selected him with the No. 6 pick in the first round of the 2001 draft. The University of Georgia product helped New England win its first Super Bowl title during his rookie season.
