Former Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki leaving Miami for divisional rival Patriots

Dolphins free agent tight end Mike Gesicki, who struggled to find a fit in a new offensive scheme this past season, is signing a one-year deal with the New England Patriots, according to multiple reports.

According to reports, the contract is worth $9 million.

Gesicki, a second-round pick of Miami in the 2018 Draft, was one of the Dolphins’ most-tenured players and became a fan favorite with his passion and humor. But in the first season in head coach Mike McDaniel’s offense, one that requires its tight ends to block proficiently, he posted his fewest catches and receptions since his rookie season.
