Two years ago, the Patriots and Commanders both selected quarterbacks in the draft after finishing 4-13 during the 2023 season.
Drake Maye’s Patriots went 4-13 again in 2024, while Jayden Daniels’s Commanders made it to the NFC championship game, where they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles.
‘However, despite New England’s poor record and so-so numbers (2,276 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, 10 interceptions), Patriots fans have just as much reason to be optimistic about Maye as Commanders fans do about Daniels,” ESPN’s Ben Solak wrote.
“Jayden Daniels had a historically productive rookie quarterback season,” Solak wrote.
