Dolphins, not Jets, projected to finish last in AFC East

The New York Jets finished 5-12 last season and in third place in the AFC East. It was the New England Patriots, who finished a league-worst 3-14, who were last place in the division. It marked the second consecutive campaign the Jets placed third within the AFC East. Prior to that, the Jets finished dead-last in three consecutive seasons (2020-22).

The Jets are a rebuilding squad. The new regime, consisting of Darren Mougey as general manager and Aaron Glenn as head coach, are overseeing a reset. Justin Fields is the new starting quarterback on a two-year bridge contract to replace the toxic Aaron Rodgers.
