May 6—Bates College senior and former Edward Little standout Jillian Richardson claimed a New England title Saturday at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Division III Championships in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Richardson won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17 minutes, 12.64 seconds, which was nearly eight seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Richardson earned regional titles all three seasons of her senior year: cross country in the fall, the indoor 3K in the winter and now the outdoor 5K.
