The Denver Broncos took a risk when they tendered running back C.J. Anderson at the lowest possible level, allowing other teams to swoop in and make a better offer to the restricted free agent.
According to The Chicago Tribune, four teams are interested: the Bears, Dolphins, 49ers and Patriots.
Anderson's current offer from Denver is approximately $1.6 million for one year. If a team comes over the top, the Broncos have the right to match the offer to retain Anderson. If they don't match, they'll receive nothing in return.
Anderson would fit well with the Patriots, who need a between-the-tackles back to complement Dion Lewis.
