Chris Godwin confirms in interview how much money Patriots offered him

The New England Patriots offered Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin an offer he couldn't refuse in the offseason, and he still refused them.

Godwin left generational wealth on the table to re-sign with the Buccaneers on a three-year, $66 million deal. According to The Athletic's Dan Pompei, who recently spoke with the former All-Pro receiver, the Patriots came after Godwin hard with a multi-year deal worth an average of $30 million per year.

And it still wasn't enough.

Godwin's decision ultimately came down to family in the end.
