After making their signing official on Wednesday afternoon, the Patriots roster was updated to include No. 1, Cam Newton. The quarterback will stick with the number he wore as a Carolina Panther.
Newton will be the first Patriots player since 1987 to wear No. 1, and only the fourth in franchise history, joining John Smith, Tony Franklin, and Eric Schubert.
