Derailed by injuries and kicked to the curb a few years after leading his team to the Super Bowl and winning an MVP award, Cam Newton isn’t alone.
Kurt Warner was in a similar spot after the 2003 season, and in a first-person story on NFL.com, the quarterback wrote that he sees a lot of himself in Newton.
“The thing is, Cam wasn’t the first quarterback to find himself without a job after both reaching the pinnacle of the sport and winning one of the highest individual awards in pro football,” Warner writes.
