Bill Belichick’s captains are echoing their coach’s message: A quarterback competition is coming to Foxborough this August.
Two days after Belichick made it clear the starting gig won’t just be handed to Cam Newton, James White and David Andrews followed suit, citing all three Patriots veterans when asked about the 2015 MVP.
“I think that (quarterback) spot is the same as all the other spots on the team,” Belichick said on Friday. “We’ve got a long way to go and we’ll see how things turn out. I can’t control how players perform.
