The New England Patriots officially moved to Mac Jones last week when they named him as the starter and released former MVP Cam Newton. The move was a bit of a surprise in the NFL world after the Patriots brought back Newton this summer and considering he was the presumptive starter.
Friday, Newton released a new video on his YouTube channel where he spoke alongside his father about his release from the Patriots, why Jones became the starter and more.
“Did it catch me by surprise being released? Absolutely,” Newton said in the one-on-one conversation.
