Cam Newton will probably be the Patriots starting quarterback on Week 1. As long as he’s healthy, New England wouldn’t have brought him in if Bill Belichick didn’t expect him to start.

For the first time in 20 years, it’s not 100 percent clear who’ll be taking snaps for the Patriots and Belichick isn’t going to make it any clearer if he doesn’t have to.
Belichick has spent a Hall of Fame career withholding even tiny crumbs of information if he believes that info even might give his opponent even a little advantage. If he thinks he can make Brian Flores commit time studying additional video of two quarterbacks, he’s going to do it.
