Cam Newton has been watching Lamar Jackson before most people knew who he was.
It wasn’t intentional at first. Newton is a proud Auburn alum so when his Tigers were playing Louisville at the Georgiadome to open the 2015 season, he was naturally going to check it out.
After the game, he was happy with Auburn’s 31-24 victory and intrigued by the quarterback making his first career start for the Cardinals.
“I don’t think even Lamar knows this. I saw Lamar’s first college game,” Newton said. “And I was like, 'Who in the world is this kid flying around?
