Buffalo’s Damar Hamlin collapses, receives CPR after tackle in first quarter of Bills-Bengals game

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed after making a tackle during the first quarter of Monday night’s game in Cincinnati against the Bengals.

Hamlin, 24, tackled Cincinnati’s Tee Higgins. Shortly after the stop, Hamlin stood up, and then collapsed. While players from both teams surrounded him, an ambulance came on the field. Reports indicate that he received both CPR and oxygen on the field before being loaded on a stretcher and taken for further medical attention.

His Bills’ teammates knelt in prayer as the ambulance drove off the field.

Hamlin is a 6-foot, 200-pound safety who was taken in the sixth round out of Pitt in 2021.
