Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said he had "no idea" if Rob Gronkowski was interested in coming out of retirement.
A three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, Gronkowski, 30, announced his retirement from the NFL in March last year.
But with Tom Brady having left the Patriots to join the Buccaneers, there has been talk the pair could reunite in Tampa Bay.
However, Licht played down those suggestions, with Gronkowski having won the WWE 24/7 Championship earlier this month.
"Well, he's doing a pretty good job with WrestleMania right now.
