Yesterday’s news that Terry Glenn had been killed in an early-morning car crash outside Dallas no doubt had many Patriots fans recalling the talented wide receiver’s star-crossed days in Foxboro.
It got me to recalling the one season he played with the Green Bay Packers.
It was a Sunday in late December of 2002, a Sunday when Pats fans forgot all the old holdouts, hiccups and health crises and found themselves cheering all over again for Terry Glenn.
The Packers were closing out the regular season against the Jets at the old Giants Stadium. The Pats, meanwhile, were coming off their first Super Bowl season and trying to sneak into the playoffs, and needing some help from beyond Gillette Stadium.
