Tom Brady has left New England, but one of his good friends is coming back.
The Patriots reached an agreement to sign veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer on Sunday, according to the Boston Globe, marking the return of Brady’s former backup. He will join a quarterbacks room that features Jarrett Stidham and Cody Kessler, with Stidham expected to have a chance to step into the major void left by Brady signing with the Buccaneers.
The 34-year-old Hoyer’s arrival likely takes the Patriots out of play for other experienced signal-callers that are on the market, including Cam Newton, Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston.
