Bill Belichick won’t address elephant in the room following Patriots’ season-ending loss to Jets

In what might have been his final appearance at the podium, Bill Belichick made sure his future was not the topic of debate.

The New England Patriots’ head coach wanted to focus on his team’s 17-3 loss to the New York Jets rather than the speculation surrounding his position. He made that much clear in the opening statement of his postgame press conference at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

“It’s a disappointing year for all of us, players, coaches, staff. Entire organization. Not anything that any of us are in any way content with but it is what it is,” Belichick said.
