Bill Belichick Tells Reporters 'Let's End on a High Note,' Walks out of Presser

The New England Patriots lost LeGarrette Blount on Sunday to a season-ending hip injury, forcing the team to spend this week rummaging about in the free-agent bin for reinforcements.

One name that has cropped up as a possible short-term option for New England is former Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport was first to note the Patriots' interest in Jackson, who will reportedly work out with the team on Wednesday.

#Patriots will work out RB Steven Jackson when he visits today, source said (as @Edwerderespn said).
