New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick did something surprising on Thursday: he gave an injury update on a player.
That player is quarterback Cam Newton, who left practice last Friday with a reported bone bruise in his throwing hand. Aside from a report the next day saying that Newton was likely to miss time during this week's OTAs, there hadn't been any update about him.
Until now, that is. During a media session on Thursday, Belichick deviated from his normal practice of telling reporters to refer to the injury report and gave an update on Cam.
