Quarterback Cam Newton put his stamp on the New England offense on Sunday as he directed the Patriots to a 21-11 victory over the Miami Dolphins on the opening Sunday of the NFL’s 2020 season.
Playing in his first game for New England after nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers, Newton completed 15-of-19 passes for 155 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions and ran for 75 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.
“I think it’s time for everybody, including myself, to realize this is what it’s like,” Newton said after the game. “I think it hit me kind of full circle today, and for me to just kind of realize that I’m a New England Patriot and I’m just going to embrace this whole moment.
