At 40, Tom Brady’s oldest to receive NFL MVP award

MINNEAPOLIS — There isn’t a lot of uncharted territory for Tom Brady when it comes to NFL records, but the Patriots quarterback crossed some more last night when he became the oldest Most Valuable Player in league history.

At 40 years old, Brady eclipses Rich Gannon (2002) and Peyton Manning (2013), who were both 37 when they took home the NFL’s most prestigious individual single-season honor.

It is Brady’s third regular-season MVP award, with the other two coming in 2007 and 2010. He will be able to add this one to a trophy collection that includes four Super Bowl MVPs.
