The Buffalo Bills became so obsessed with beating the New England Patriots that they became them — with one massive caveat.
The Patriots won 11 straight AFC East titles between 2009 and 2019 and 16 of 17 before Josh Allen's ascendance and Tom Brady's departure turned the reins over to Buffalo. Allen has taken home the division title each of the last five seasons — three of them with cushions of three wins or more in the final standings. But while New England's dominance was rewarded with Lombardi Trophies and Super Bowl parades, the Bills have yet to venture beyond the conference title game.
