The New England Patriots continued to trim their roster from 90 to 53 players on Sunday.
According to the NFL transaction wire, the organization waived running back C.J. Marable, tight ends Scotty Washington and Johnny Lumpkin, offensive lineman Micah Vanterpool, defensive lineman Justus Tavai, linebackers Diego Fagot and Carson Wells, as well as defensive backs Brad Hawkins and Rodney Randle.
The nine moves follow Saturday’s previously reported departures of veteran defensive tackle Carl Davis and cornerback Quandre Mosely.
Marable, 26, won consecutive USFL championships with the Birmingham Stallions prior to signing in the midst of training camp.
