2021 NFL free agency: Safety Terrence Brooks heads from Patriots to Texans on reported one-year deal

Free agent Terrence Brooks will go from the AFC East to the AFC South.

The former New England Patriots safety has agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract with general manager Nick Caserio’s Houston Texans, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.

The move will be finalized after the new league year begins at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday.

Brooks, 29, appeared in 29 games over the past two seasons with New England. Those games included 47 tackles and one interception. He eclipsed 500 snaps on defense and 300 snaps on special teams over that span while making two starts in the secondary.
