Patriots News: Patriots Super Bowl Favorites, Terry Glenn Passes Away And More

The New England Patriots had a nice mini vacation in Mexico City, especially considering the business as usual mentality after beating the Oakland Raiders 33-8. The Patriots offense wasn't the issue at the beginning of the year it was the defense, but this Patriots defense has been solid the last six weeks not allowing more than 17 points in any of those games. Belichick and the Patriots wouldn't want us to look at the past so we are onto Week 12 but first here are the biggest Patriots news and rumors you can't miss.

Super Bowl Favorites
The latest odds at Bovada.lv have been released heading into Week 12 the New England Patriots (+310) have the best betting odds of anyone in the AFC to win the Super Bowl. In the AFC seems to be a two-man race between the Patriots and Steelers after the Chiefs have lost four of their last five games.

The Steelers and the Patriots are the only two teams in the AFC with a better than 16/1 championship odds so it is looking like a rematch of last seasons AFC title game.

Terry Glenn Passes Away
On Monday morning Terry Glenn passed away from an auto accident in Texas at the age of 43. Glenn was drafted by the Patriots seventh overall in the 1996 NFL Draft and went on to a 12-year pro career. He played six seasons in New England where he had 329 receptions for 4,669 yards and 22 touchdowns. He currently ranks eighth in team history in receiving yards and ninth in receptions.

Today at Bill Belichick's news conference he was asked for his thoughts on Glenn.
“I was pretty close with Terry, His rookie season was my first year here in '96, so I had a lot of interaction with him and other people that were involved in his life and his upbringing separate from the Patriots. Terry was a very smart individual, had a lot of, obviously, a lot of physical skill and talent, could do a lot of things on the football field very naturally. I think he was deep down inside a good person with good intentions and a good heart. Obviously, it's a very unfortunate passing. I mean, it’s just sad. It's a sad day. It's sad news.”

Glenn was a good player with good intentions and will be missed by the Patriots and the entire NFL.

Brandin Cooks Wants To Be A Lion
Not a Detriot Lion, but an actual lion. Cooks posted a picture of him and Tom Brady on his Instagram. The caption of the photo was "If you want to be a Lion surround yourself with one"

I think it is safe to say Brandin Cooks likes being a Patriot, and can you blame him? The Patriots are 8-2 and the best team in the AFC and arguably in the NFL. The Patriots have been to seven of the last 15 Super Bowls.

He has surrounded himself with a whole pack of lions, this Patriots team has won six games in a row and Cooks hasn't missed a beat with his new team. This season, Cooks has 45 receptions, 786 yards, and four touchdowns.
