On this episode of the Patriots Report, we break down the top New England Patriots NFL Draft targets for the first and second round! We give you the top options at linebacker, cornerback, tight end and tackle!
In the first round, the Patriots should be targeting cornerback Joshua Jackson, who would fill their #2 CB slot behind Stephon Gilmore and give them a quality 1-2 punch in the secondary. They should also target many different linebackers including Leighton Vander Esch of Boise State, Rashaan Evans of Alabama, and Malik Jefferson of Texas. The last target should be the pass rushing specialist from Florida, Taven Bryan, who has been flying up draft boards over the past week or so due to his fantastic performance at the NFL Combine.
In the second round, CB Isaiah Oliver from Colorado should be at the top of the Patriots draft board. They are drafting in the first 10 picks of the 2nd round due to their trade with the San Francisco 49ers for Jimmy Garappolo. They should also look at TE Mike Gesicki from Penn State and Mark Andrews from Oklahoma to shore up the position due to the Patriots rumored releasing of TE Dwayne Allen. After that, Chukwuma Okorafor could be a replacement for Nate Solder and John Kelly could be your replacement for Dion Lewis.
