Mutual Respect Between Patriots Coach Bill Belichick And Colts WR Reggie Wayne

In this Patriots news update, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been forced to game plan and account for dynamic Indianapolis Colts veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne 16 times during his time at the helm.

Belichick has always been impressed with what he's seen, calling Wayne “really one of the best route runners obviously in the game now maybe ever in the game," per Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk.

The feeling appears to be mutual, especially in relation to the defensive backs that Wayne will be lining up against at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday Night Football.

This secondary here, in my 14 years playing New England, is probably the best complete secondary,” Wayne said this week. “I think it allows them to do more things up front with their front seven games, that they probably haven’t done in the past years. They’re talented. They’re ball-hungry. It gives them a little bit of where they can be risk-takers with blitzes and things of that nature.”

Wayne has commended Belichick for his coaching in the past as well, displaying a healthy sense of respect that is refreshing to see in this modern era of NFL football.
