First Quarter Recap: Jeremy Lane's Interception Keeps Seahawks, Patriots Tied

New England got the ball first and punted, but then forced Seattle's offense into a three-and-out. The Patriots followed with a long drive and got into the red zone, but Jeremy Lane picked off Tom Brady in the end zone to stop the scoring threat.

Biggest Surprise:

The Patriots have been able to move the ball against Seattle's defense with relative ease, taking advantage of open space in the flats and along the sidelines.

New England Key Player:

The Patriots have used a heavy dose of running back LeGarrette Blount so far, who has seven carries for 27 yards so far. Most importantly, he's picked up a couple of key first downs.

Seattle Key Player:

Because Seattle's offense hasn't done anything to this point, Lane has been the key player so far due to the impact of his interception.

Who Has The Edge?

New England has been able to control the game to this point with that long drive, even though it didn't end in any points. If they can keep the Seahawks defense on the field for long stretches like that, they'll start to wear them down and the points should start flowing.
