Women's basketball: Nevada survives rugged Utah State game to take over first place in MW

First, the lights went out at Lawlor Events Center — literally.

Not long after, the lights went out in a figurative way on Utah State’s comeback chances Monday night.

The end result was a 65-54 win for Nevada in a Mountain West women’s basketball game that lifted the Wolf Pack to the top of the conference standings.

Seniors Da’Ja Hamilton (21 points) and Amaya West (11) combined for 32 points for Nevada, which improved to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in MW games. Freshman Audrey Roden scored 12 off the bench, including three of Nevada’s six 3-pointers.
