Women's basketball: Fresno State downs Nevada

Fresno State built a big lead early, then held on to beat Nevada, 79-63, Saturday in women's college basketball in front of 1,021 fans at Lawlor Events Center.

Nevada fell to 5-10 overall and 1-3 in the Mountain West. Fresno State improved to 11-4, 4-0.

Nevada senior Jade Redmon led the Pack in scoring with 17 points. She is one point shy of 1,000 in her collegiate career. She also tied her career high of five assists.

Candice White led Fresno State with 24 points and eight rebounds and Maddi Utti added 16 points.
